We are proud to announce the successful completion of our comprehensive geological and geotechnical survey for the prestigious Sihanoukville Port Expansion Project, spanning from 2024 to 2026. As a critical hub for international trade, the expansion of Cambodia's deep-sea port demands the highest standards of engineering precision. Project Overview & Exceptional Workload

Navigating complex marine and coastal geology requires rigorous investigation. Our team successfully executed an extensive drilling and testing program, overcoming challenging tidal and geological conditions to deliver precise data.

  • Massive Drilling Campaign: Safely and efficiently executed a heavy workload of over 50 deep boreholes, mapping out the complex sub-surface strata of the port area.

  • Deep Rock Coring: Undertook extensive rock sampling (rock coring) to evaluate bedrock quality, RQD (Rock Quality Designation), and compressive strength, crucial for heavy marine structures.


Advanced Testing & High-Precision Methodology

To provide the ultimate accuracy required for nearshore and offshore engineering, our company deployed a suite of state-of-the-art testing equipment and specialized sampling techniques:

1. High-Quality Undisturbed Sampling (Piston Sampling)

To accurately evaluate the shear strength and compressibility of the soft marine clay layers, we utilized Piston Samplers to retrieve high-quality, undisturbed soil samples. This minimized disturbance, ensuring that laboratory testing perfectly mirrored true in-situ conditions.

2. Automated Field Vane Shear Testing (VST)

Determining the undrained shear strength of soft sediments is vital for slope stability and quay wall design. We deployed automated field vane shear testing equipment, eliminating human error and providing continuous, highly reliable, and digitized torque data directly from the field.

3. In-Situ Penetration Tests (CPTu & SPT)

  • CPTu (Piezocone Penetration Testing): Provided continuous logging of cone resistance, sleeve friction, and pore water pressure, allowing for precise stratigraphic profiling and soil behavior type identification.

  • SPT (Standard Penetration Testing): Conducted at regular intervals to assess the density and strength of granular soil layers and weathered rock profiles.
